About Me
Hello! I’m Alisa Doshi. As an experienced pediatric occupational therapist who has worked with children of all capabilities, I found purpose and importance in working with parents and caregivers as a forefront of my practice. After all, you as the parent are the expert of your child and with him or her every day. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I quickly adapted my practice to provide services via telehealth. This shift revealed the powerful impact of virtual care, as it increased parent involvement and engagement. By empowering parents to take an active role in their children's learning and development, I saw lasting, positive changes in the children's growth and progress. The early years of childhood provide a vital window of opportunity to shape the course of your child’s holistic development. I am a big believer that investing in children’s foundational years of learning and growth and providing nurture now will result in significant positive outcomes for the future – the future of your children, your family, and the community at large, for generations to come. Being engaged, reflective, and conscious in your child’s early years of life will not only help your child, but it will create meaningful experiences, build a stronger relationship between you and your child, and lay a solid foundation for a bright future.
I would love to share with you the profound knowledge, evidence-based strategies, and tools I learned through my training and experience as a professional occupational therapist. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working in diverse settings, from a skilled nursing facility in New York City to a private pediatric practice in Anaheim Hills to a non-profit pediatric clinic in Whittier. These experiences have allowed me to develop a comprehensive skillset and a deep understanding of how to best support you and your family. Each role has enriched my ability to provide compassionate, effective care tailored to your unique needs. I will help you gain valuable insights into child development and nurturing your child. I will provide you tools, resources, and ideas that can be implemented within your daily routines. I will help you recognize and celebrate the strengths of both you and your family. I will collaborate with you to implement a customized plan-of-action based on occupational therapy inspired practices and perspectives for you to help your child reach his or her full potential.
I am eager to support and guide you to better understand and enhance your child’s unique developmental journey AND find joy, empowerment, and meaning while doing so. My hope is for you to be confident in your approach and embrace the journey of facilitating your child's learning and exploration. Your participation and commitment are the key to your child’s success and will make all the difference in shaping his or her future.
I live in southern California and love to catch some sun, go on hikes and long walks, travel to new places, do strength training workouts, cook new recipes, watch Marvel movies with my husband, play board games, do escape rooms, and spend fun quality time with my nieces and nephews. I enjoy deep, meaningful conversations and connecting with people.
I would love to chat with you and get to know you!
